Roberto Mazzoli
Born in 1973, he is a guitarist, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist.
He studied classical and electric guitar, exploring numerous musical genres, curious to learn about their various expressive possibilities.
He trained in classical music but began his experience as a composer in the field of alternative rock, publishing his first self-produced albums in the 1990s.
In the early 2000s, his encounter with African-American music led to a permanent study path that led him to experiment with the language of Brazilian Popular Music, to which he dedicated two albums published by the historical label Philology Jazz: “Falta de setembro” (2010) and “Dal vivo chitarra e voce” (2015), characterized by original compositions and the use of the 7-string classical guitar, which he studied in Rio de Janeiro.
The encounter with the theater was of great importance in his career, through which he specialized in the role of stage musician, which favored the practice of different musical instruments (percussions, piano, accordion, saxophones, electronics), significantly expanding his artistic experience.
He has performed on numerous national and international stages and collaborated with many artists, but his curiosity continues to grow, leading him to enter the world of Roman jazz as a guitarist and instrument teacher.
Academic studies and a doctorate in Psychological Sciences are not enough to contain his characteristic “restlessness” and therefore, in 2023, he brings to the studio a new album of original compositions in which, inevitably, the diversified past artistic experiences tend to merge into a plural language, entitled “50 Years Old Boy”, produced by NiNa Records.
